What a shot by the Rangers’ Anisimov. Had this been a full mug of Core Cooler, we’d have gotten some solid product placement. Hope the goalie wasn’t thirsty.

Athlete Highlight of the Week: Ken Daneyko

Nicknamed “Mr. Devil” by fans, Ken Daneyko helped win three Stanley Cups and holds the record for the most games played as a New Jersey Devil (1,283 regular season games!). Check out this highlight from 1999-00 Round 4/Game 1 in the Stanley Cup Finals:

Daneyko is impressive on and off the ice. We met him the other day and got to talking about sports drinks. As Daneyko explains below, hydration is important, but so is taste:

Daneyko is currently a Devils TV analyst and Hockey Night Live analyst for the MSG Network. Check him out here.

Ron Greschner, a wonderful player and a friend — he seemed to have the puck forever. He would have the puck for as long as he wanted it.
Dave Maloney, the youngest captain in team history of the New York Rangers, tells New York magazine’s Sports Section. Greschner is a partner at Core Cooler.

cthockey:

Being from the big apple I have a soft spot for the blueshirts, but since after i was two years old, they have struggled with playoff and regular season success. This year, if the Rangers can’t make the playoffs, i might have to cry.

Now even though they are only a few games into the season two…

We’ll pass this on to one of our partners, retired Ranger Ron Greschner.

Landon Donovan: Live Like A Playmaker
Read this. Because you probably have something to learn from a guy who doesn’t just win every award his sport gives out, but also does things like “launch [the U.S. World Cup Team] into the cup’s second round for the first time since 1930.”
We’re also pretty into Landon’s inspiration for his career moves:

I’ve only ever made decisions that revolve around me actually getting to play. That’s why I got into this. It’s why I started as a kid. And at the end of it all, I just want to play as much as possible.

Athlete Highlight of the Week: Kellen Winslow

We know the importance of hydration (it’s why we created Core Cooler in the first place), but we still get excited when pro athletes understand it’s effect on performance. We caught up with Pro Football Hall of Famer and retired San Diego Charger Kellen Winslow Sr. at the Joe Namath Celebrity Golf Classic the other day, and here’s what he had to say:

Winslow knows firsthand the benefit of hydration on performance. The following video, “NFL Top 100 Players #67 - Kellen Winslow,” highlights the Dolphins vs. Chargers 1981 AFC Divisional Playoff game that Winslow mentioned above:
